More Than 200,000 Pounds of Meat Have Been Recalled - Check Your Fridge!

On Dec. 5, 2021, one well-known company issued a recall of around 234,391 pounds of meat products due to the possibility of bacterial contamination. This recall applies to numerous products distributed nationwide.

Read on to learn more about this recall.

Alexander & Hornung

Alexander & Hornung, a subsidiary of Perdue Premium Meat Company Inc., issued a recall of 17 meat products because of the possibility they were infected with listeria.

The company discovered this problem while conducting routine product sampling, and the results came in positive for Listeria monocytogenes. Alexander & Hornung notified the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and initiated a recall of all potentially contaminated products upon receiving the results.

The fully cooked ham and pepperoni products in question have an “EST. M10125” label on the packaging. At the moment of writing this article, there were no reported illnesses or adverse reactions caused by these products. The company stated it recalled all products out of caution.

The FSIS urges consumers not to use these products. Listeria mainly affects people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, newborns, and the elderly. Some of the symptoms are fever, sore muscles, headache, stomach problems, and disorientation.

If you’ve bought some of the products in question, you have two options. The first is to throw them out immediately, and the second is to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Don’t Take Any Chances
